I have heard conflicting reports about the viability of using Acronis' True Image (9) imaging software and the current tech. builds of Vista.
1. That it will not work from within Vista's UI? 2. You can however back up and restore from the media bootable disc for True Image.
I'm hoping at least #2 is accurate. Has anyone imaged a Vista partition successfully and restored via a TrueImage boot CD?
Thanks -
PS - I tried and failed with an earlier version of Drive Image (2002?) and the prior MSDN release of Vista.

Does Vista play nice with Acronis True Image 9.
It has been reported that it works with Vista, but ensure that you are installing with Administrative Priviledges. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "John IV" wrote in message

No, it does not work within WinVista, even installed as administrator. It fails imaging the partition. Running from WinXPSP2, it asks me about 8 hours to make an image of Vista's partition and stops working after 1 hour. So what disk imaging software would play nice with WinVista ? Thanks
